Training

Disability Powys has a proven track record of providing equality and diversity training courses

The aim of our training is to facilitate a positive change in attitude and culture. We provide public, private and voluntary organisations with the knowledge and skills to work effectively and ethically, making your services and employment opportunities accessible to an increasingly diverse population.

We are continually up-dating and revising the training packages that we offer and our courses can be tailored to suit clients requirements.

All of our training sessions comprise a variety of activities with high levels of participation and opportunities to explore issues, including practical exercises, group discussions and self-reflection.

Disability Equality Training

This course can be tailored to be delivered as either a full or half day course.

Typical outline:

  • Legislation surrounding disability
  • Explores attitudes and perceptions
  • The Social Model of Disability & it’s relevance in society
  • Barriers to social inclusion
  • The importance of using appropriate & non offensive language
  • Identifies attitude & access issues in service provision & employment.
