You can be involved with Disabiltiy Powys as a member; a representative on groups such as the Montgomeryshire Access Group and the Physical Disability and Sensory Loss Engagement Forum; and as volunteer.
We provide training placements to young people via Powys Training and Tydfil Training and offer placements to individuals referred to us by Knighton and District Community Support's 'Volunteering on Prescription project. In addition to benefiting from providing training placements we benefit enormously from volunteer involvement and support. We currently have the following voluntary opportunities:
Director/Trustee - acting as a member of the Board
Welfare Benefit Advisors - supporting the work of the employed Advisor
Advocacy support - supporting the work of the employed Advocates
Access Group member - acting as a member of Montgomeryshire Access group
Administrative support - supporting the work of the employed staff in the Llandrindod Wells office
Fundraisers - providing 'hands on' support to the staff and Board with fundraising activities
In return of your time and expertise we offer a professional, supportive and friendly environment; relevant training and guidance; out of pocket and travel expenses. Please contact the Llandrindod Wells office for further information.
